Media Center

The media program offers 21st century instruction and technology, as well as the latest print and electronic collections for all of our students, parents, and teachers. Our Media Center programs increase students' reading skills while fostering a love for reading, which is a fundamental part of academic growth and improvement. Our media programs enhance information literacy, motivating students to enjoy reading, and to make it an essential part of their lives.

Media Center at Clifford O. Taylor / Kirklane Elementary

The Clifford O. Taylor / Kirklane Elementary Media Center contains a number of areas for independent or group reading and instruction. There are over 14,000 books in our Media Center available for student circulation and new books are always being added.

Students are scheduled to visit the Media Center every nine days for a lesson in Literacy Appreciation, Library Skills, and/or Research Skills. Students are encouraged to check out books at this time, but may also check out and/or return books every morning from 7:30 a.m. - 7:55 a.m.

Our school Media Center is a place where students come to read and research. Students also visit the Media Center to put their scientific and creative minds to work in our Makerspace. The Media Center is host to award-winning author visits, community guest speakers and two book fairs annually.
