Established 1970. Clifford Otis Taylor was born in Fort Pierce, Florida, on January 4, 1926. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. He devoted 42 years to education in Florida, serving as the principal at Kirklane Elementary in Palm Springs. After Mr. Taylor's retirement in 1991, the School Board approved renaming Kirklane Elementary to Clifford O. Taylor/Kirklane Elementary. Mr. Taylor supported an educational environment where students and staff were encouraged to excel.
